Community, Work, and Hope during Social Distancing | (Virtual) Monday Night Acting Lab | Summer, 2020

As we all know, with Covid-19 ruling over our given circumstances, it is not yet possible for us to carry The Monday Night Acting Lab forward in person.  Because of this, I have scheduled ZOOM Sessions for The (Virtual) Monday Night Acting Lab, as we watch how events surrounding health concerns unfold.

This is partly about maintaining community and connection as well as we are able, but also about doing what we can to remain productive and inspired during this time of pausing and uncertainty.

It is an opportunity to discuss acting-oriented questions as a group, and also an opportunity to present monologues you are working on for feedback.  A number of auditions are currently being carried out online, and the current strangenesses won’t last forever.

So far, our virtual ZOOM sessions have allowed us to discover a great deal about energy, presence, playing the space, and focusing in on what the audience hears.

1.  To keep our productivity moving forward and balance people’s access to performing time in each session, participants will be put into a performance schedule, so we know in advance who will be presenting work for feedback during which week.
2.  To keep the dialogue and exchange of ideas moving productively forward, I will be assigning (light) reading each week, for discussion and group digestion the next week.  (And yes, I will be providing copies of that material over Email.  You will NOT have to acquire it yourself.)

Mondays 7:30 – 9P through 29 June, 2020.
July 13, 20, 27, August 3, and 10.
